Travel Soccer in Delaware

Competitive soccer, real coaching, and a community that stays with you. Concord Soccer’s Representative Teams program is where serious players grow.

Competitive Soccer With a Culture That Supports Player Development

Concord Soccer’s Representative Teams program is the club’s competitive travel soccer program in Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania, serving players from U9 through U19. Teams compete in regional leagues and tournaments against clubs across the region, with a coaching model and a set of standards that set Concord Soccer apart from every other travel program in the area.

This is not a program where players are numbers on a roster. Every representative team is led by a paid, qualified coach who is assigned to that team for the full year. That coach knows your player’s name, their strengths, their struggles, and their goals. That relationship is the foundation of everything that happens on the field.

Concord Soccer’s representative program is a nonprofit program. Fees are kept as low as possible while maintaining the quality of coaching, facilities, and competition that families expect. There are no shareholders. Every dollar goes back into the program.

What You Need to Know

Age Groups and Leagues

Teams are formed at the following age groups: U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18, and U19. Both boys and girls programs are offered.

Teams are placed in appropriately competitive leagues based on age group and competitive level. Concord Soccer actively evaluates league options, including the Central League and Elite Development Program (EDP), to ensure players are competing at the right level.

The club’s goal is to field a minimum of two teams per age group, supporting player mobility and appropriate placement across skill levels.

One Coach.
One Team.
All Year.

Most travel clubs run coaches across multiple teams. Concord Soccer does not. Every representative team has one paid, qualified coach who is assigned to that team for the full year. That coach is not stretched across four rosters. They are focused on one group of players, building the kind of relationships that make real development possible.

Concord Soccer’s coaches are selected for their technical credentials and their character. They are mentors first. The club actively supports their professional development, including coaching education and licensing, and holds every coach to the same standards of communication, conduct, and commitment.

Coaching standards for every representative team

Coaching standards for every representative team:

  • Paid, qualified coach assigned to no more than one or two teams
  • Weekly parent communication maintained throughout the season
  • Structured onboarding covering Concord Soccer’s mission, code of conduct, and expectations
  • Annual beginning-of-season team meeting for players and families
  • Goalkeeper coach supporting multiple teams with consistent instruction

Every coach at Concord Soccer is expected to model the Concord Way. That means competing with passion, respecting opponents and officials, and holding every player to the same standard of integrity and sportsmanship that the club has upheld since 1979.

How Tryouts Work

Players are issued a numbered identification vest at check-in. Coaches and evaluators identify players by number throughout the tryout. Players are assessed in small-sided and full-sided game situations. Concord Soccer believes the best way to evaluate a player is to let them play.

Players are only required to attend one tryout to be considered, though attending all scheduled sessions gives players the best opportunity for evaluation.

Registration

Any changes or postponements will be posted on the homepage in the announcements section. If a tryout is postponed, the noted rain date will be used.

Selection and Acceptance

Following the tryout process, selected players will be notified by phone. An email invitation will follow. Families have 3 calendar days to accept the position and submit the acceptance fee. Positions not accepted within that window will be offered to another player.

More Than a Season

Concord Soccer’s commitment to player development does not stop at the final whistle. The club offers supplemental development opportunities throughout the year for representative players who want to continue growing.

Development offerings:

  • Supplemental clinics and free Friday training sessions open to all representative players
  • Specialized goalkeeper training available across multiple teams
  • Player evaluations completed by coaches at defined intervals, with feedback available to families who opt in
  • Promotion of reputable external programs that offer advanced competition and coaching exposure
