Who We Are
Concord Soccer is led by a dedicated Board of Directors, Executive Staff, and Coaching Staff who are committed to our mission and values. Our leadership team brings decades of soccer experience, community involvement, and a shared belief in the power of youth soccer to develop character and build community.
Every member of our leadership team volunteers their time and expertise to ensure that Concord Soccer remains a premier youth soccer organization rooted in accessibility, development, and integrity.

Tom Macauley
President
Board member since 2014 / Board President since 2017
Tom grew up in Connecticut and earned all-county recognition playing soccer in high school. He moved to Delaware in 1995 to practice as an attorney. After volunteering to coach in Concord’s SDP program for four years, Tom earned his first license from US Soccer and began coaching a Concord representative team in 2014. Tom volunteers his time and continues to coach because he enjoys challenging children to attain success and believes kids should be able to play soccer competitively without their families having to pay exorbitant fees.

Matthew Spagnolo
Vice President
Board member since 2014
Matthew is a native Delawarean. He volunteered to coach development in 2013 and was asked to join the board in 2014. He joined to help the evolution of youth sports in the area. Matthew wants every child and family to have a sense of belonging to their local club. He believes that the Wilmington area is fortunate that young people have the opportunity to be introduced to almost any sport. Additionally, Matthew volunteers flying his plane for the Air Care Alliance and Pilots N Paws.

Rich Thomas
Treasurer

Rick started playing soccer as a youth and continued through high school, college, and then in the local adult recreational league. He introduced his children to soccer through Concord Soccer Association as a volunteer coach in the SDP program and then the representative team. After his kids retired from playing, he joined the board and has served as Treasurer for the past six years. He is a proponent of Concord Soccer Association’s community-based philosophy and is committed to the life skills and personal growth fostered through the development of youth.
Favorite professional soccer teams: Bayern Munich, Leeds United, and Susquehanna Crusaders
Garrett Colgan-Snyder
Secretary
Board member since 2024
Garrett is a dad of two soccer players, both of whom play for Concord Soccer Association, and the owner of Camp Hawkeye, a sleepaway summer camp for kids. He grew up playing soccer at a competitive level and recognizes the benefits of a connected and well-organized club community. Garrett joined the board in 2024 because he believes the value of the club to the families of North Wilmington and the Brandywine Hundred area is immense, and he wanted to be part of continuing the organization’s growth post-COVID. His work with the board is an extension of his commitment to kids’ growth and belonging in out-of-school learning opportunities.

Bob Bussiere
Board member since 2015
Bob has been involved with youth soccer since 1983 when he coached his first team in New York. He moved to Delaware in 1987 and was the first Director of Coaching for the Delaware Youth Soccer Association. He coached his first Concord team in 1989 and won the Delaware State Cup and lost in the semifinals of the Region 1 tournament. Bob was the first chair of the DIAA high school girls’ soccer tournament committee in 1994. He has been coaching high school soccer (boys and girls) for more than 40 years.

Ben Fuchs
Board member since 2023
Ben is originally from Germany where soccer was a big part of his upbringing. He came to the US in 2004 to start his career as a Chemical Engineer at DuPont. Ben first got involved with Concord Soccer Association as a player parent and volunteer coach in the SDP program before he joined the Board of Directors in 2023. He volunteers his time to help expand access to the game of soccer within the community, especially for young players, believing strongly in soccer’s ability to foster growth, teamwork, and personal development.

Joann Woodring
Board member since 2023
Joann played soccer as a child and then as an adult in the New Castle County sports league. She first got involved with Concord Soccer Association coaching her daughter as a volunteer coach in the SDP program before she joined the Board of Directors in 2023. She is mom to two players in the representative program with Concord Soccer Association. She volunteers her time because she is passionate about creating a positive environment where athletes can develop skills, confidence, and teamwork both on and off the field.

Kristen Hook
Board member since 2023
Kristen first joined the Concord Soccer Association community as a parent. After witnessing the positive impact the program had on her son and his passion for soccer, she joined the board in 2023. She also volunteers as a coach in the girls’ development program. Kristen values Concord’s welcoming atmosphere and appreciates that it provides opportunities for players of all skill levels to grow and succeed.

Rich Quashne
Board member since 2019
Rich has been a Delaware native his entire life, splitting time between growing up in Middletown and going to school in Wilmington (St. Elizabeth’s and Salesianum). His first experience was playing against Concord Soccer Association with the M.O.T. United soccer team, a precursor to Middletown Union/DEFC Central. He has been a member of the Concord Soccer Association Board of Directors since 2019 and has been coaching youth soccer (CYO and club) for more than a decade.

Victor M. Sitiriche Jr.
Board member since 2024
Originally from Brooklyn, Victor M. Sitiriche Jr. has been a dedicated volunteer with Concord Soccer Association since 2018. Throughout his time with the club, he has coached a wide range of boys’ and girls’ teams across multiple age groups, helping young athletes grow both on and off the field. Victor believes soccer is about more than competition. It teaches teamwork, discipline, leadership, perseverance, and confidence. He is passionate about creating positive opportunities for players to develop important life skills through the game while building a strong sense of community. In 2024, he proudly joined the Concord Soccer Association Board of Directors, continuing his commitment to supporting and strengthening the club’s mission.

Amanda LaPenta
Board member since 2024
Amanda is a Delaware native and communications professional who grew up in a quintessential soccer family, always on the go between practices and games. She knows how deeply the friendships, mentors, and lessons from the sport carry into adulthood. After joining Concord Soccer Association as a parent and coach, she became a board member in 2024 to help ensure soccer remains accessible to all, with an emphasis on developing not only the player, but the whole person.

Our Leadership Team
Joe Manlove
Director of Coaching
Joe has been a soccer coach since 2003 in various high school and club roles. He currently serves as the Varsity Head Coach at Archmere Academy, coach of CSA U14 Boys Red team, and chair of both the Boys and Girls D.I.A.A. High School Soccer State Tournament Committees. Joe has been with CSA since 2008 as a staff coach before taking an administrative role in 2021. These various roles keep Joe connected to all aspects of youth soccer.
Joe holds a USSF C License (2009) and a United Soccer Coaches High School Coaching Diploma. He played for Kirkwood Soccer Club growing up, then at Saint Elizabeth HS and Belmont Abbey College (DII) in Charlotte, NC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in Economic Education and Entrepreneurship from the University of Delaware. He has taught American History and Economics at Alexis I. Du Pont High School since 2004.

BJ Sturdivant
SDP Director
BJ is a lifelong lover of the game of soccer and what it can teach players about being an upstanding citizen. He grew up playing at the club, high school, and college level and began coaching at the age of 14, continuing to do so ever since. BJ joined CSA in 2014 as the 2006 Girls head coach and became the SDP Director in 2022.
