Adult league guidelines
Concord Soccer Association
Adult League GuidelinesOur co-ed league fosters a friendly and inclusive environment, welcoming players of all skill levels.
To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Player Safety: Dangerous play, including slide tackles, is strictly prohibited. Players are expected to maintain control and prioritize the safety of all participants.
2. Fair Play & Substitutions: All players must participate in a rotating substitution system to ensure equitable playing time. Substitutions are not solely for fatigue; they are a fundamental aspect of our inclusive play.
3. Positional Play: Players are expected to maintain their assigned positions upon entering the game. Positional flexibility is encouraged, but drifting across the field is discouraged. If a position is unsuitable, players may opt for another substitution.
4. Ball Distribution: Promote ball movement and discourage excessive individual possession. The league emphasizes collective play, ensuring all participants have opportunities to engage with the ball.
5. Strategic Play: The frequent use of long-ball tactics is discouraged. While appropriate in specific situations, prioritize ground passes and controlled possession to enhance overall game flow and player involvement.
6. Skill Development: Encourage a slower pace of play to facilitate the inclusion and skill development of less experienced players. Support and mentorship contribute to a more skilled and cohesive team.
7. Co-Ed Participation: Ensure equitable ball distribution among all players, regardless of gender. Intentional exclusion of female players from passes is unacceptable and contrary to the league’s co-ed spirit.
8. Team Attire: Always bring one white and one dark shirt to games for easy team division. Light grey shirts are not permitted due to potential confusion with white jerseys.
